    Marlo, the 2010 American Pole Fitness Champion, and 2011 Aerial Pole International Champion, has 23 years of dance training, and is a Wilhelmina Fitness model. Marlo’s pole accolades have taken her around the world, and landed her a full page spread in The New York Times, appearances on America’s Got Talent, Colbert Report, Law&Order, 30 Rock, and and role in the feature film “Rock of Ages”...

    Emily Sanderson

    Emily Sanderson has been teaching movement since 2002. At the age of 14, she began instructing the younger students at her dance school in California, creating stretching and warm up routines for the competitive teams. She traveled internationally, competing in world-level Irish dance competitions. Her early years as a dancer sparked a lifelong interest in movement, fitness, and dance. At age 19, she completed her first Pilates certification while earning her undergraduate degree in Kinesiology. She continued to be a student of many dance forms while pursuing further education in yoga, athletic training, physiology, and fitness. While working as a Pilates instructor in Portland, OR, she tried her first pole class, and immediately fell in love with the pole. In 2014, she moved to NYC to work at Body & Pole, teaching flexibilty, pole, and cross-training classes and shortly after she began assisting trainings with elevatED. With a varied background in movement studies, Emily brings a wealth of knowledge to our instructor certifications!

    Allison Wardwell

    Allison Wardwell co-wrote, alongside Marlo Fisken, elevatED's flexibility teacher training program. She teaches flexibility, pole, choreography, lyra, and conditioning classes. Allison is certified in AFAA Group Fitness.

    Lara Michaels

    Lara Michaels first found pole in 2011 through a Groupon. Originally from San Francisco, and a classically trained violinist, she holds two degrees in music performance, a bachelors from the San Francisco Conservatory and a masters from Mannes College in New York. She has a background in ballet and other dance styles. Lara has competed many times, notably with USPDF, Pole Sport Organization, Pole Classic at Pole Expo, US Aerial Championships, Pole Theatre USA, and the Asia Pole Championship. She is an elevatED master trainer and has been teaching at Body & Pole since 2013.

    Kyra Johannesen

    Kyra began dancing in Phoenix, Arizona at the age of four and later moved to Los Angeles to study at the Edge Performing Arts Studio. Kyra has choreographed performances for international musicians, bands, and industrials. Kyra discovered pole dancing and quickly embraced this form of physical art. Crunch Gym in New York City asked her to develop the pole dance program for their group fitness...
