Emily Sanderson has been teaching movement since 2002. At the age of 14, she began instructing the younger students at her dance school in California, creating stretching and warm up routines for the competitive teams. She traveled internationally, competing in world-level Irish dance competitions. Her early years as a dancer sparked a lifelong interest in movement, fitness, and dance. At age 19, she completed her first Pilates certification while earning her undergraduate degree in Kinesiology. She continued to be a student of many dance forms while pursuing further education in yoga, athletic training, physiology, and fitness. While working as a Pilates instructor in Portland, OR, she tried her first pole class, and immediately fell in love with the pole. In 2014, she moved to NYC to work at Body & Pole, teaching flexibilty, pole, and cross-training classes and shortly after she began assisting trainings with elevatED. With a varied background in movement studies, Emily brings a wealth of knowledge to our instructor certifications!
